The five factors affecting occlusal balance are condylar inclination, incisal guidance, occlusal plane inclination, the compensating curve and cuspal inclination. The inter-relationship of these factors may be described as Theilman’s formula. This program illustrates how these five factors inter-relate in when designing the occlusion for any particular patient.
